What a special Christmas morning. The first Christmas with a baby of our own. And the snow was just the cherry on top. We walked over to the Layton's for our 3rd annual Christmas breakfast. Brian sure knows how to make great pancakes. After visiting with his cousins, Weston enjoyed spending the rest of the day with mommy and daddy and all his new toys!

Navy Eyes, Lil Noah, New PJs and Family pics
So we had a trial run with little Noah last friday. It went great. I think him and Weston are going to be good buddies. They were sure good for me. Hopefully I'll get lucky and it will be smooth every time. What a pair, huh? I bought these Christmas pajamas at the Hatley store in Destin and I absolutely love them on Weston. You can't beat organic cotton pajamas with a night cap. I accidently took this close up of Weston but it really shows the color of his eyes. They really are that blue. No retouching. And these two family pics are my favorite out of our entire session. Weston's face is priceless. Look at my two boys. I'm a lucky woman.

Thanksgiving 2010
I love coming together with family for the holidays. Its amazing how even people from the same bloodline can be so different and special. I enjoy the uniqueness of every one of my relatives. We are so blessed and I take joy in knowing that even in our trials, we have the support of one another. Thank you God for being in our lives. The overflowing love of this family would not exist without you. The food was delicious, the laughs were great and the company was perfect. Happy Thanksgiving!

1st Halloween!
Weston sure had a first fun Halloween. We went tricking treating with all the cousins. I took a lot of great pics but I lost them all while transfering them to the computer. So sad. Still have these great shots of him in his cute skeleton costume though. Its a 12 month and his legs are already too long. He wears double his age. Crazy. We also tried out a teething biscuit for the first time. Weston loved it!

Weston's 6 Month Photos
At his check up he weighed 18 lbs 14 oz and measured 28 inches long. He's healthy all around but kind of lagging on his upper body strength and neck control. I know he'll get there though. Slow and on his own time, just like his daddy. Some of these photos crack me up. He was such a trooper with so many wardrobe changes, but by the time we got to his Halloween costume, he'd had it.

Destin in October-Our First Family Vacation
Well, another Destin in October has come and gone. The weather and the company was absolutely perfect. Smaller group than usual but a wonderful group none the less...just Phillip, Weston, Maymie, Pappy and me. We stopped at Durbin Farms and got our favorite, a ham and cheese melt and a chocolate milkshake for the road. Weston was such a good boy on the way down. We made it in 7 hours and 10 minutes. Not too shabby. First night we went to Lucky Snapper for a beautiful sunset dinner and yummy cheese biscuits. The next morning we walked to the Bad 'Apple' Cafe for coffee, and went to the beach for fun, sun and water. After lunch back at the house, the boys went golfing and the girls went shopping. We met for dinner on the pier in Baytowne Wharf at Poppy's for some great seafood. Friday we woke up and went to the "Donut Hole" for breakfast. Both couples shared the "Diet Plate" but if you are on that kind of a diet, you're only going to end with a heart attack!!! We then took Weston to the pool for some more fun, sun and water. At first the water was a little cool for Weston, but he got used to it and did not want to leave. After lunch back at the house, Lacy and Phillip played a few games of "Botchee Ball." Then, the boys went golfing and girls went shopping again. The last night we ate at Cantina Laredo's in the Grand Blvd. Amazing mexican food and a chocolate cake dessert that knocks your socks off. We were all exhausted by the end of it. We are so glad Maymie and Pappy allowed us to come along and spend the rest of the week with them. We loved spending time with them and love them so much. What a great first vacation!

Month 5 Has Been A Riot
It's getting close to Weston's half year birthday. I can't believe it. It's true what they say about it flying by. I'm so sad though cause my litte man seems to have grown way too quickly. He's already in 12 month clothing. We haven't started solids yet but I think he's ready cause every time we're eating, Weston stares at our food like 'why don't get any?' It's hard though. He's been so healthy, has a great complexion and only poops once every 3 days. I don't know if I want to change any of that. The only plus would be if it helped him sleep through the whole night. And boy would that be a plus. Weston can't quite sit up yet cause of his long torso. He loves watching daddy be a goofball and seeing the cars drive by when we sit on the front porch. And we all love sitting on the deck at dusk with the torches lit listening to the sounds of nature. He's really getting good at using his hands and putting things in his mouth. No teeth have popped up yet but the bottom two are very close. I'm loving every minute of being a mommy to this healthy boy and I just want to squeeze him all the time.

4 Month Check Up
At 4 months, my son can roll over from front to back, hold objects in his hands and chew them, smile and laugh, recognize me and daddy and a few other people, hold his head steady (when he wants to-sometimes he's lazy), sleep 6-7 hours straight (he only wakes up one time around 3:00, eats, then falls back asleep), and push himself up 90 degree angle when he's on his belly. He was pretty tough about his shots today. We just had to give him some love and Sophie the giraffe. Best chew toy ever! He weighs 16.75 lbs (84%) and is 26.26(90%) inches long. He loves to talk to people, swing, and watch the dogs play fetch. Phillip and I are so blessed with a precious son who's happy and healthy.

4 Months Old Today
My son is 4 months old today. And as you can see, he's growing incredibly fast. I believe he's outgrown the papasan, don't you? His feet hang off at least 3 inches! This morning I got him on video rolling over for the first time. So proud! Can't wait to see how much he weighs at his 4 month check up tomorrow. Keep ya posted!

Still Growing
Weston is 3 and a half months and is growing faster than a weed. He's in a tough stage for mommy right now though. At 0-3 months, he slept a lot so it was okay that he couldn't do anything. But now, at 3-6 months, he's wide awake, very alert and still can't grab a toy right in front of his nose. He gets so frustrated and therefore so do I. It won't last long so I'm trying to enjoy it. His neck is getting stronger every day, he giggles at random times, and he loves to kick his legs. I always seem to catch these cute moments he has with dad. How unfair is it that dad's go to work all day, miss all the fussing and come home to a happy, fed and full, sleepy baby? Well, thats how it is in my case. I guess daddy deserves it though. He works hard so I can stay home with our sweet son. I love this picture of Granddaddy Sensing and Weston. Its so beautiful to see the two farthest ends of the spectrum of life next to each other just happy with each other's company. These two know the only things that matter in life are the necessities: food, shelter, love from everyone around them and the one true God that blessed them with all of it. We could all learn from the young and the old.

Weston's 3 Month Photos
My son is 3 months. I can't believe it. He is such a big boy. I don't know exactly how big at the moment cause he doesn't have his next appointment til 4 months, but I can tell he's grown a lot cause of how heavy the bucket is getting when I carry him around. He did so well at his 3 month photo shoot today. Just look for yourself. So precious. Phillip and I are proud parents. We love you Weston Joe!

Weston's First Trip to Destin
We left on Tuesday morning at 10:00 not knowing what to expect on a 7 hour drive with a 5, 4, 1 year old, and a 2 month old. Boy, were we in for a surprise. They were awesome. The ride seemed more like 4 hours and everyone was so well behaved. Each day was a new adventure. We ate out at yummy restaurants, did some great shopping, enjoyed the beach and pool and the big kids even got to go go-cart racing with Maymie and mommy. We all can't wait to get back to Destin. Thank you Maymie for a wonderful trip!
